Slovenia coach Matjaz Kek urges players to forget England's problems

June 22, 2010 - Port Elizabeth, South Africa - epa02216661 Slovenian national soccer team head coach Matjaz Kek watches his players during their team's training session in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, 22 June 2010. Slovenia will face England in the FIFA 2010 World Cup group C soccer match on June 23.
Slovenia coach Matjaz Kek has insisted that his players will be concentrating on their own form rather than England's poor displays at the 2010 World Cup so far when the two sides clash in Port Elizabeth this afternoon.

Kek has instead urged his playes to retain their focus and take nothing for granted just because Fabio Capello's men have underperformed so far.

"We have seen England's matches and everyone knows and is familiar with football in England," he told reporters in South Africa.

"We have also seen some video clips from England's qualifiers, and playing against England is always a challenge. It is also filled with huge expectations.

"But please do not believe that we feel better because England might not have played so well so far.

"We will play as we have been playing. For sure, we will try to do our best - we will try not to make mistakes."

The Slovenians need a point from the game to secure qualification for the second round but Kek maintains that they will be looking to find the England net.

"We will try to score a goal - we have scored three goals so far and I don't know why we should change our strategy," he added.

"We have had a very good strategy and this strategy has been confirmed by four points."
