‘Zizou’ has continued to push for Los Blancos to complete the transfer of the French winger…
Real Madrid appear to be closing in on the signing of Franck Ribery, despite his employers at Bayern Munich furiously denying that there are ongoing negotiations or that they are prepared to part with the Frenchman.
Los Blancos’ sporting advisor, Zinedine Zidane, has revealed that there are in fact discussions being carried out at the moment as he backed up his previous statement that the club will do everything they can to bring Ribery to the Santiago Bernabeu.
“I am not in Madrid at the moment, but there are meetings being held at the moment regarding this matter. The negotiations are on the right track,” he told Le Parisien.
“I am all for Ribery joining Madrid and I will do everything to make it possible.”
Zidane then went on to speak about his new role up at the Bernabeu offices rather than down on the pitch.
“I am learning a lot in my job as the president’s advisor and I meet with [Florentino] Perez regularly,” he explained.
“Until now, I only knew how things ran in the dressing room, but now I am learning about the things that go on at the top of the club.”
Meanwhile, AS believes that ‘Zizou’ will be heading over to Munich in the next few days to personally close the deal to sign Ribery.

The Argentine striker could sign for the Red Devils on a permanent basis, provided they meet his wage demands...
According to a report in the British tabloid The Sun, Manchester United have agreed to pay the £26 million demanded by Carlos Tevez's owners to purchase his economic rights.
Apparently, all that is standing in his way of becoming a Red Devil on a permanent basis is reaching an accord with regard to wage demands.
It is claimed that the 25-year-old has been earning around £95,000-a-week during the last two seasons while he was on loan at Old Trafford.
However, it is said that the 50-time capped Argentina international wants parity with the likes of Rio Ferdinand and Dimitar Berbatov, who are believed to be paid £110,000-a-week.
Should United fail to reach an agreement with 'El Apache', it seems that Chelsea and Manchester City are waiting in the wings to sign him up.
However, it appears that one club he will almost certainly not be joining is Liverpool, as Sky Sports is reporting that he has ruled out the possibility of moving to the Merseyside-based outfit.

Italy coach Marcello Lippi regards Brazil as Italy's biggest threat to Confederations Cup glory this month.
The Italians are busy preparing for the tournament after arriving in South Africa earlier today. The coach will be hoping to lead his side to lifting the trophy as he targets a repeat of their rise to greatness in Germany three years ago.
"For us, all tournaments are important. We expect to play excellent matches in South Africa," Lippi told FIFA.com
"We want to grow as a team and a working group. One of the most important things is to consolidate our strengths and exploit all the opportunities that come our way in the process of developing and becoming the best we can be."
The Italians will be expected to impress in a tournament which includes powerhouses Spain and Brazil. However, Lippi is not feeling the heat and believes his side can match the big guns.
"There is no pressure. We have a group who train and play well together and there is no pressure on us," added Lippi.
"Football is about being prepared mentally, you have to understand the psychological aspect of the game.
"Brazil? First of all, it is normal to see a lot of interest because Brazil are currently the strongest team in the world and Italy are the current world champions.
"There is nothing surprising about that. As for differences? The Brazilians are very strong, they are quick when they attack, they are a very dangerous team. Our styles are different - very different - so we can't really draw comparisons."
Italy clash with New Zealand in a friendly on Wednesday before kicking off their Confederations Cup campaign against the USA on June 15.

It seems only a matter of time before Real Madrid confirm the signing of Kaka after the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) have announced that he has indeed undergone a medical with the Spanish club.
The news has been reported throughout the day but only now thanks to a statement released by the CBF has it been confirmed.
"The technical committee of the Brazilian national team answered the request from Kaka and Real Madrid and permitted the player to undergo routine examinations in a clinic in Recife," reads the message.
"The CBF sorted out some of the logistical sides of the examination through the head of the medical team, Jose Luiz Runco, who accompanied the player to the exams that he was submitted to."
The news seems to indicate that the Brazilian is now even closer to a move to Madrid and an announcement is expected this evening.
As of yet there have not been any details of the deal released but it is thought that Kaka will cost Madrid around €65 million, making him the most expensive football player in history.
If he joins he will be the first player signed by Florentino Perez during his new spell as president and will join new coach Manuel Pellegrini at Madrid.
