WAYNE ROONEY is promising World Cup goals for England.
Roo has scored just once in his last seven internationals - including a blank against Mexico on Monday.
But the Manchester United striker aims to put that right in South Africa.
He said: "Of course I'd like to score but that's the way it is. If it doesn't happen, I'm glad it's in a friendly and not in the World Cup.
"Hopefully, I'm saving them up for then. I don't feel pressure, I try and give my all.
"I feel good at the minute. I feel good fitness-wise and I'm looking forward to it."
Incredibly, Roo's last England goal was back on September 9 against Croatia in a 5-1 romp.
It is a poor return - particularly as in 2008- 09 he smashed 10 goals in nine games.
Ankle ligament damage interrupted the end of Rooney's season.
But the Player of the Year still finished with 33 goals for United.
England head back to their Austrian boot camp today following the 3-1 win over Mexico.
They will prepare for Sunday's final warm-up game with Japan in Graz before their World Cup campaign starts against the USA on June 12.

Roo, 24, added: "I've trained every session. I have a bit of a stiff neck but that should pass in a day or two.
"We were happy to win against Mexico but the performance wasn't good enough. But we're still working.
"It's a long season for everyone. I'm quite fortunate in that I haven't trained a lot in the last six weeks.
"It's hard work, it's a different atmosphere in Austria and your breathing is a bit different.
"But, hopefully, when we get out to South Africa we will get the benefit.
"We have to go into each game and play the way we normally do.
"If an injury happens it's bad luck and you have to get on with it."
