Louis Saha Promises Everton Fans That He Has More To Offer

The striker who has battled injury for much of the season has asserted that the Toffees faithful have not yet seen the best of him...
Everton striker Louis Saha has affirmed that he is keen to produce more of the high-quality displays of which he knows he is capable, after another frustrating season spent battling injury.

The Frenchman recently returned from a two-and-a-half month lay-off with a hamstring injury, and, although he flashed signs of his form flickering to life in the eight substitute appearances and three starts he has made since his comeback, he is aware that the supporters are still waiting for him to blossom in a blue shirt.

"I do think that I can give a lot, lot more," the former Manchester United man told the Toffees' official website.

"It's been a season with a bit of frustration, but I've managed to feature in most games so I am happy with it. But as a striker we want more goals and more assists, and that's what I'm looking for."

Everton welcome West Ham United to Goodison Park on Saturday, a side who present a tough challenge under the astute management of Gianfranco Zola.

"I think they have shown some consistency since Zola arrived," Saha added.

"So it's going to be a tough game, but we expect that. They are playing good football so it’s going to be an entertaining game. They have good players, and when a team are organised and don't concede many goals, it shows it's going to be a tough game.

"I think our spirit is really high right now, and we are ready for the final as well.

"You can see that [the fact that the] team is around us [in the league] means that we have to concentrate because teams like this can halt us."

Saha scored twice in the reverse fixture earlier in the season, prior to his injury, in a 3-1 win over the Hammers, and he would very much like a repeat of that performance this weekend.

"It would be nice", he went on.

"But in football that's something you can't predict, and that's the magic of it.
"We are confident at home. We've got great fans and we are really hard to beat. But I do think we show great power, great desire to go forward so that's why I'm going to look forward."
