Udinese Ace Gaetano D’Agostino Desperate For Juventus Switch

Speculation is rife in the peninsula that Juventus are set to complete the signing of midfielder Gaetano D’Agostino from Udinese, and the Roma youth product, who turns 27 today, is eager to finally tie the knot with the Old Lady.
“I had a trial with Juve at the age of nine,” D’Agostino revealed to Tuttosport.

“I passed the selection process, but in the end I joined Roma because it was closer to my hometown Palermo. Perhaps it was not the right time, but now…

“Just the fact that they talk about this, it’s a source of great satisfaction. I have always said I would leave Udinese only for a big side and Juve fall into that category. Besides, I am Juventino through and through.”

Juventus have already signed trequartista Diego from Werder Bremen and D’Agostino is looking forward to plying his trade next to him and his idol Alessandro Del Piero.

“When I was playing for Roma, I managed to get Del Piero’s shirt via [Angelo] Peruzzi,” confessed D’Agostino.

“This goes to show my Juve inclination. I think he is one of the best players in the history of Italian football. As for Diego, he netted four goals against Udinese and I’m sure that without him Werder Bremen would not have knocked us out.”

The Bundesliga side eliminated the Friulians 6-4 on aggregate at the quarter-final stage of the competition before losing to Shakhtar Donetsk in the final.
