OFFICIAL: Ciro Ferrara New Coach Of Juventus

Confirming reports over the past few days, Juventus have officially appointed Ciro Ferrara as their coach for next season.

The former Napoli and Bianconeri defender took over in a caretaker role for the last two matches of the season after Claudio Ranieri was sacked and led the team to two impressive victories over Siena and Lazio.



Ferrara has signed a two-year contract with La Vecchia Signora and is aiming to restore the club to former glories, that he was part of as a player.

Previously, club officials had announced that an Italian with a 'young mentality' would be chosen for the position, prompting speculation that Bari boss Antonio Conte or Roma tactician Luciano Spalletti would be chosen, but they have since committed to their current clubs and Ferrara has now done the same in Turin.

Juventus centre-back Nicola Legrottaglie had already suggested this would be a positive choice for the club after Juventus ended a disappointing campaign with no trophies.

Ferrara had claimed on a number of occasions that he was ready to continue if the club wanted his services and he has indeed gotten his wish.
