Season Over For Juventus Defender Zdenek Grygera

Juventus wing-back Zdenek Grygera reported a muscular problem during Wednesday’s training session at Vinovo and the Bianconeri have now announced through a statement on their official website that the 29-year-old will be sidelined for several weeks. Scans have revealed he sustained a muscle strain.

It is a big blow for new boss Ciro Ferrara, who must try and secure automatic Champions League qualification in the final two games of the Serie A season.

French defender Jonathan Zebina is now expected to deputise on the right flank, with Paolo De Ceglie on the left.

Captain Alessandro Del Piero is also unlikely to travel to Siena at the weekend after he picked up a thigh knock in training yesterday. Vincenzo Iaquinta and Amauri should start up front.

Juve currently sit third, just one point above Fiorentina, who face a trip to relegation-haunted Lecce on Sunday.
