Nantes slide closer to relegation from Ligue 1

Nantes' hopes of escaping relegation from Ligue 1 suffered another blow when they were held 1-1 at home by Stade Rennes on Sunda



The promoted side, who have won only one of their last 14 games, remained second from bottom on 34 points, three points from safety with two games left.

Rennes are seventh on 58 points, behind Lille on goal difference after the northern side also drew 1-1 at home to ninth-placed Nice.

Olympique Marseille will go top of the table on goal difference if they beat outgoing champions Olympique Lyon later on Sunday.

Girondins Bordeaux moved three points clear of Marseille on 74 points with a 3-2 home victory over Le Mans on Saturday.

Third-placed Lyon cannot be crowned champions for an eighth year in a row as they are 10 points off the pace.
