Atletico Madrid Targeting Wantaway Benfica Coach Quique Flores

The O Glorioso boss is reportedly trying to buy out his current contract and leave in the summer...
Quique Sanchez Flores is the man that Atletico Madrid want to lead them next season, according to reports in Portugal today.
RTP claims that the Spanish side have identified the Benfica coach as their number one target and are monitoring his progress at the moment.
The report adds that Atletico will not make their interest public until they are assured of a place in the Champions League next season.
Coincidentally, it is claimed in Portugal, that Quique Flores is trying to negotiate his exit from Benfica, even though he has a year left on his contract.
The former Valencia boss would not come alone, though, and were he to join Atletico, he would bring him with a valuable asset in the form of Maxi Pereira.
The right-back has been one of the most utilised players under Flores and it is no secret that Atletico do have troubles in that position.
Along with Pereira, the Benfica coach would also bring his technical staff; Pako Aiestaran, Fran Escriba and Emilio Alvarez.
Speaking to MaisFutebol about the situation, Flores' agent, Manuel Garcia Quilon, did not rule out a move.
"I do not think that Benfica want him to go, and yes, he is still there, for now...," he mused.
